Glastonbury with VW Camper Hire

Your VW Campervan for Glastonbury

Glastonbury Festival 50th Year

Glastonbury festival is held at Worthy Farm just outside Pilton in Somerset, if you go back far enough the festival use to be known as Pilton Festival. The festival has allocated fields for tents and campervans and these have already sold out for the 2020 festival, so if you have not managed to secure a ticket for these fields then you will be forced to make alternative arrangements. As you can image over the past 20 years Glastonbury has grown into the No 1 festival to attend, no surprise the tickets sold out within 30 minutes. Unfortunately the lovely British weather has on occasion turned the fields into a mud bath, not great when all you have to is a small pop-up tent, portaloos and cold water. At least with a VW Campervan you can get yourself away from any unpleasant weather.

As Glastonbury is very popular we recommend booking your vw camper early to avoid disappointment. If you have any specific queries or requirements then please contact us at VW Kamperhire.

Diana Ross takes the Legend slot on the Sunday having not performed in the UK for 12 years, DJs Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim have both been confirmed. Mike Skinner (front man for the Streets) and Wolf Alice are two other acts confirmed for 2020.  For the official website click here.

Festival Tickets

The festival is SOLD OUT and you can only buy tickets from the main Glastonbury Festival website, don't be tricked by any ticket touts as you are almost certainly not going to be let into the event.

Delivery to Site

Yes, we can deliver your vw campervan to a designated place near the festival, so if your travelling by train to Glastonbury we can meet you at the Castle Cary train station (Great Western Railway line). From Castle Cary you have around 15-20 min journey to the festival by campervan. Alternatively if you gain agreement from the festival the campervan can be delivered to the East Campervan field. Please note there are strict procedures for gaining access, for instance you would need to provide us with the appropriate ticket, we would also recommend that you are present at the time.

Please note: as you can imagine there are additional charges for this service.

Getting there

Its roughly going to take about 1hr 30mins (depending on driving conditions and traffic) to drive to Glastonbury from Sidmouth in your vw camper remember the classic type 2 campervans need to be driven no faster than 55mph. There are a couple of options to make your way to the festival either take the M5 and come off at Junction 23, alternatively take the A303 which is the shorter route. As you can imagine with the large number of vehicles all heading in that general direction you could well be spending some time sat not going anywhere because of sheer volume. At least in our vw campervan you will be able to keep your drinks cool.
